OB Hospitalist Job in Virginia

We are seeking an experienced OB Hospitalist for a position in Virginia. This role involves managing unassigned OB/GYN patients, providing emergency care, and supporting both the Labor & Delivery (L&D) and Main Emergency Department (ED). Job Description:   OB HOSPITALIST - VIRGINIA  

• Beds: 174
• Labor beds: 12
• L&D: 3 ORs
• NICU: Level 3 b-down to 28 weeks
• Wil handle some circumcisions
• Min 3 years experience
• EMR: EPIC, fetal monitoring- OBIX
• Deliveries: 290-340
• Consult expectations: Unassigned in-house & upon request
• Model: 1 MD, no CNMs in OBED
• Shift time: 8 am- 8am
• Anes 24/7 in house
• Is the expectation that only emergency surgeries (e.g., ectopic, D+C) will be performed on call? 
• Only emergent GYN cases, not elective cases. Typically Laparoscopy for ectopics/torsions, D&C for incomplete Abs, etc.
• OB Hospitalist will cover all unassigned OB/GYN patients that present to Labor and Delivery or the Main ED for assessment and admissions.
• Assumption of the ER call
• Provide Triage/OBED coverage for all patients; 24/7/365
• Attend to Obstetrical emergencies on L&D or Main ED
• Provide Emergent GYN consults in the ED and emergent GYN surgery coverage
• Provide Inpatient consults (OB & GYN)
• NST Interpretation
• Nursing Support
• Assist/Manage Obstetrical emergencies
