Coverage Details
- Schedule: 24-hour call coverage Monday, March 23 (8A) through Friday, March 27 (8A)
- Patients per shift/day: Varies
- Coverage type: Call only
- Call details: Beeper call; 20-minute response time; hospital will call provider’s cell phone
- Practice setting: Inpatient; rounding required
Requirements
- State license: Active North Carolina license; NC DEA (NC address); NC Medicaid credential
- Board/certification: Board Certified required for specialty on assignment
- Privileges/credentialing: Temporary privileges available; estimated credentialing timeframe 14 days
- Other requirements: PECOS enrolled; no recent/open malpractice cases; fully vaccinated; actively delivering babies with case logs required
- Admissions: Yes
Clinical Details
- EMR: MediTech 6.1
- Trauma level: Level 0 (PEDs Level 0)
- Support/staffing: No APP supervision; hospitalist support staff; 24/7 anesthesia and radiology support
- Procedures: Routine and complicated deliveries (vaginal, forceps, C-section, VBAC), emergent C-sections, OB ultrasound, FHR interpretation, high-risk deliveries (emergent only), emergent GYN procedures; office/minor and surgical gynecology as listed
- Notes: No NICU on site; high-risk transfers to New Hanover Regional or Cape Fear Valley; Level 1 nursery; provider housed in hospital apartments and must be within 20 minutes per bylaws; average ~27 deliveries/month with ~11 C-section
