Locum Tenens OB-Hospitalist Need in FL

Schedule: 8a-8a 24h in house call shifts Looking for 5-15 shifts per month.

Caseload: No surgery assist, 165 annual deliveries, 300 annual surgeries, no resident supervision required. Triage: Yes. 360 per month

ORs on L&D: 3

• Care of unassigned OB-GYN patients
  • Assess all unassigned triage patients
  • Assess all OBED patients (if the OBED is in place)
  • Obstetric admissions
  • Labor management and deliveries  
  • Postpartum and GYN rounding and discharge
  • Arranging follow-up care       
  • Inpatient and ER consults
  • Assist in emergent GYN surgeries (with backup present to cover GYN surgeries as primary surgeon)
  • Supervise Certified Nurse Midwives in the hospital setting, if applicable  
• Assume care of maternal transfers and collaborate with Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM)
• Manage or assist with obstetric emergencies for all patients on L&D
• Anesthesiology resources: Anesthesia is in-house 24/7
• Neonatology resources: Contracted for 24/7 coverage by a board-certified neonatologist and 12 hours a day by a nurse practitioner. 
• MFM resources: No on-call MFM. A community-based MFM is used

Procedures: Laparoscopy, D&C 

Setting: 1 MD (24/7), 1 CNM (1728 hours)

EMR: Meditech

Start Date: 12/31 - Ongoing

License: FL or IMLC

Notes: The minimum # of deliveries is 50 and 2 years of experience to be considered for this role. NICU LVL 3. Temp privs available for clean candidate file. ACLS, BLS, MUST BE BOARD CERTIFIED
