An opportunity has arisen for a call-only general surgeon in West North Carolina. This role offers a focus on call coverage with potential for occasional surgeries, without the requirement for clinic time. Ideal for those looking to work in a supportive hospital environment with minimal daily responsibilities, this position ensures flexibility while providing critical care as needed. Coverage:

• No clinic time just call and possible surgeries if needed
• Will there be any acute care need? Yes
• Is there trauma involved? If so, what level? :Potential/ Not a trauma center
• Patient Volume= 3-4 consults/10 pts. on rounds
• Support Staff : Hosp. staff only
• Will they be solo or have other surgeons on staff? Solo on call

• Hospital is Stroke Certified
• Bed In Department: 205
• Rounding: Both

  Physican Requirements:

• Board Certified/ Board Eligible
• Fellowship Preferred
• Licensed in NC only
• ACLS Required
• 30 days to credential

  Call Details:

• Beeper
• 20 minutes call response time required
• Locums call is for Both

    Skills Required: General Surgery :

• Adult
• Pediatric

Laparoscopic Surgery:

• Appendectomy
• Cholecystectomy

Breast surgery Chest tube insertion Central line insertion   Skills Preferred: General Surgery:

• Neonate

Vascular Surgery :

• Vascular access devices

Additional Procedures for Physicians Trained as Pediatric Surgeons: Artesias:

• Esophageal
• Intestinal
• Biliary

Abdominal wall defects :

• Gastroschisis

Umbilical defects:

• Hernia
• Omphalocele
