We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon for a 24-hour weekend call coverage position in Michigan. This role involves covering both Trauma and General Surgery call, with a focus on Trauma/Acute Care Surgery Service patients.

Job Details:
- Physician Requested: 1
- Call Volume: Averages 2-3 calls per weekend
- Coverage Includes: Trauma and General Surgery call, Trauma/Acute Care Surgery Service patients
- Rounding: On all admitted patients for Trauma Services and Acute Care Surgery Services; approximately 9am - 12pm on Saturday and Sunday. Census varies from 15-20 patients.
- Code 1 Trauma Activation: Must respond within 15 minutes (Level II Trauma Center)
- Cases/Procedures: Orthopedic fractures, tendon ruptures, wound/infection washouts; no spine work or infected joint transfers
- Clinical Support: 6 APPs
- EMR System: Epic/Dragon
- Orientation: Three days prior to start date
Physician Requirements:
- Board Certification: Board Certified or Eligible in Surgical Critical Care
- Licensing: Licensed in Michigan or IMLC
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS required
- Case Volume: 200 cases in the last 24 months; 50 patients (surgical or consultative) in the last 12 months
- Credentialing Timeframe: Typically 30 days; applications prioritized based on start date
Schedule:
- 6/14 @ 7am - 6/17 @ 7am
- 7/12 @ 7am - 7/15 @ 7am
- 8/23 @ 7am - 8/26 @ 7am
- 8/29 @ 7am - 9/3 @ 7am
- 9/5 @ 7am - 9/9 @ 7am
- One additional weekend per month (Friday @ 7am - Monday @ 7am); exact dates to be confirmed
