- Procedures: • Grossing: Perform grossing on surgical specimens with assistance from two histotechs who will assist with grossing small biopsies, preparing slides, and conducting special stains. • Peripheral Blood Smear: Review and interpret peripheral blood smears as needed• Blood Bank Issues: Address blood bank issues, including transfusion reactions and comments related to blood transfusions. • Cellular Adequacy Checks: Perform cellular adequacy checks for Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) and CT-guided biopsies.
